Tissue temperature in rabbits during application of heat-evolving pad.

چکیده
Novel heat-evolving pads were prepared and applied to the back of rabbits to measure the temperatures of the skin surface, subcutaneous tissue (about 3 mm in depth), muscle (about 8 mm in depth) under the applied area and the rectum. The application of the pad caused an increased in the skin surface temperature, which was accompanied with an increase in the subcutaneous and muscular temperature. When the pads immediately after initiation of heat evolution were applied, the skin surface, subcutaneous tissue and muscle reached the respective plateau temperatures of about 43, ,42 and 41•Ž in 40 minutes. These temperatures were maintained for 1.5 to 2.0 hours. When the pads 30 minutes after initiation of heat evolution were applied, the skin surface, subcutaneous and muscular temperatures were increased to the respective plateau tem-

Effect of dispersion state of the magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles on the thermal distribution in Hyperthermia
Introduction: Magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) hyperthermia is a promising cancer treatment approach. It is based on the evidence that by injecting MNPs such as Fe3O4 in the tumor and subjecting them to an alternating magnetic field, they release heat, generating temperatures up to 42°C that can kill cancer cells by apoptosis, usually with lowest damage to normal tissue. In previous...
متن کاملThe rewarming benefit of anterior torso heat pad application in mildly hypothermic conscious adult trauma patients remains inconclusive
The rewarming benefit of anterior torso heat pad application in mildly hypothermic conscious adult trauma patients remains inconclusive in this randomized comparative clinical trial. There was no between-group rewarming gain in ear canal temperature when an anterior torso chemical heat pad was compared with blankets. Patient awareness, and favorable perception of, being administered the active ...
متن کاملA comparison of the effect of a variety of thermal and vibratory modalities on skin temperature and blood flow in healthy volunteers
BACKGROUND Circulation plays an essential role in tissue healing. Moist heat and warm water immersion have been shown to increase skin circulation; however, these heating modalities can cause burns. Recent research has shown that passive vibration can also increase circulation but without the risk of burns. MATERIAL/METHODS The aim of this study is to compare the effects of short-duration vib...
متن کاملTemperature Field and Thermal Stress Analyses of High-Speed Train Brake Disc Under Pad Variations
Transient heat transfer analysis of disc brake has been performed to find out an ideal shape of pad geometry. The analysis has taken frictional heat between brake disc and pads as heat flux onto the friction surface, the disc and the pad's temperature fields then were explored involving thermal conduction, forced convection and surface radiation effects. The disc thermal expansion stress was th...

Background: Brain hypothermia by reducing the temperature of the cerebrospinal fluid is done by a cooling pad in the thoracic region and protect brain from the ischemic injuries. Along with the spinal cord, the brain is an essential partner in the central nervous system, and similarly, it is surrounded and protected from the bony skull and from shock by cerebrospinal fluid. The brain analyzes i...
